Last night was an eventful night. Colin decided that sedation was still not for him. At 4am Colin told the nurses enough was enough and he was getting out of here. With one nurse laying on top of him another watching the ET tube and another running to get more sedation, they were able to get him under control. The PICU attending decide to change his sedation meds to a Ketamine and Fentanyl drip. With Atavan, morphine, versed, and vec (paralytic) used as needed. With all these meds Colin's blood pressures have dropped. This has made the Doctors go up on his Dopomine. With the increase of Dopomine they have had to discontinue feeding him and put him back on fluids. We are hoping that they will be able to start feeding him again sometime today.
His fever seems to come and go. The cultures have all come back negative!! They are thinking the fever is due to the surgery. So no worries anymore with that.
We will continue to update as the day goes on.
3 days until OR Trip #2
Thanks for all your love and support,
Dan and Nicole
