After another uneventful evening with Mom, the doctors wanted to make sure that Colin was up, and out of bed today for a little activity in the playroom.
Around 9:30 this morning, after a brief meeting with the ENT doctors, we were told that Colin would need some assistance moving around, which he did, since his legs were a bit wobbly at first, but got stronger during his hour long playtime. What would be the a good activity for Colin? Of course, spending time playing with trains and trucks.
Once we finished up with playtime, we took a slow and wobbly walk back to his room. The doctors are starting to spread out his withdraw medication, starting today, which gave us some indication at how well the withdraw medication works and how nasty a drug withdraw can be. In so many words, after a busy play hour and before lunch, being a bit tired from all the activities and need for withdraw medication, nothing could make Colin happy. He was visibly upset over everything.
When he had the necessary withdraw medicine in his system for about an hour, he was back to being the usual, playful (but just a bit weak) Colin that we know. The doctors have reassured us that everything he is experiencing is normal and expected. The goal is that each day becomes a bit easier for Colin.

Colin looks great! So happy to hear that he is doing some of his favorite things. Keep taking it one day at a time - you'll be headed back to TX before you know it!

It's so great to see you up and about and with such a beautiful smile. You are such a brave boy. Maybe we'll get a chance to see you when we come to visit Ms Lee Ann and her family in a couple of weeks. This summer you should be able to go swimming in their pool. Keep up the great recovery and we'll be keeping up our prayers for all of you.

Wow! Colin looks soooo good and very happy playing with his favorite toys. Amazing how much he seems to progress each day. I'm sure Grace and Emma (and Tex) are anxious for you all to get back home. We will continue with our prayers.

What a GREAT site, to see him in his GLORY....playing with trucks and trains!!!! How blessed it is to see this, and how far he has come. He is a healthy little man now....and has a fun-filled future ahead of him. Can't wait to see Marco and Colin play together!
