With the love and support of Colin's pre-school teacher, the bravest of the Southlake Department of Public Safety added a much needed fourth-man to its crew.
At approximately 10:00, January 12, 2008, Southlake DPS Fire Department unveiled its newest Fire/Rescue ladder truck to Colin. With a total expense in excess of $1,000,000, the dedication of Station 2, Team A, gave Colin the grand tour of its newest apparatus. In the 90+ minute tour, Southlake's bravest gave Colin and his admiring neighborhood friends (including Daddy), a complete bumper to bumper truck tour. Demonstrations included handling a pick-axe, operating the rescue ladder bucket, wearing the latest in fire protection bunker-gear, as well as demonstrating the hydrolic Hurst tools, also known as the 'Jaws-of-Life.'
The demonstration was finalized with a 15 minute driving tour given to Colin (and Daddy) of the greater Southlake area. Colin made sure to direct the Engineer in the proper direction to his school, Rockenbaugh Elementary, and the location of his friend's houses throughout the tour.
We want to thank Colin's pre-school teacher for arranging such a special day for Colin. We know that the pictures and memories of this day will remain close to Colin throughout his recovery time in Cincinnati, and bring him comfort and happiness during that time. Thank you, Traci.

Hi! Jenna and I get to be the first to make a comment on this very cool blog you have set up!! Love it, love it, love it! Kids look great and growing SO big. We know that God is looking out for you all, especially Colin as he gets thru the next few weeks to be free of his trach! He is one tough little boy as evidenced in his incredible journey from a tiny one and a half pound preemie to an active, non-stop almost 4 year old who keeps up with his big sisters!
